Our Story
Atlanta String Academy was founded with the purpose of giving children and adults the opportunity to learn how to play an instrument and make music a part of their lives. Its founder, Yulmarys 'Jewel' Zambrano has always had a passion for sharing with others how wonderful music can make you feel, and how important it is in our everyday learning. From learning how to be responsible, learn how to work with others, and discipline yourself to get your practice done.
Meet the Teacher
Originally from Venezuela, Yulmarys 'Jewel' Zambrano grew up in El Sistema, where intense work and camaraderie made music fun, and helped her explore the world while doing what she loves, playing the violin. Thanks to El Sistema, and Maestro Jose Antonio Abreu, Ms. Jewel, as her students call her, had the opportunity to study violin abroad. Now, she is looking to reach out to as many children as possible, to make music together, and have fun while doing it.
